As the mother of a neurodivergent child, Hwee Peng Tan is passionate about mental health, diversity & inclusion and special needs education.
Hwee grew up in a working-class family in Singapore and decided to move to Perth in 2011 to start a family. She is an academic all-rounder, holding a Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Engineering and a Bachelor in Business Administration major in Business Management. She is the author of 2x award winning book “How to Be A Neuro-affirmative Parent” and chairs the school board in Joondalup Education Support Center.
Hwee is a coffee lover and enjoys pet sitting during her free time. She is excited and committed to supporting the young families of Joondalup Family Center and the vulnerable communities.
